Attention all automotive enthusiasts! One of the most desirable and significant examples of the Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R will soon cross the auction block courtesy of Bonhams. This 2000 Nissan Skyline GT-R is a piece of cinematic history as it starred in Fast and Furious 4 as the hero car, driven by none other than Paul Walker. In the movie, Walker’s character Brian O’Connor selects the Godzilla from an impound lot to go street racing before using it to cross the US-Mexico border; the high-performance car appears throughout the movie. While the GT-R is blown to pieces at the end of the movie, the car that was destroyed on-screen was one of the stunt cars that were built from lower-spec Skyline GT-T models. In fact, this particular example was never used in any action shots, saving it from any kind of cosmetic or mechanical damage.

According to Bonhams, the GT-R was purchased in Japan and brought into the US without an engine by Kaizo Industries. Later, a correct RB26 inline-six engine was sourced for the car and many changes were made to make it street-legal in the US. Once it was registered for use in the US, the GT-R was modified and converted to Paul Walker’s precise personal specification, which included a long list of performance upgrades. Finished in TV2 Bayside Blue, the GT-R was upgraded with a front-mounted intercooler, Nismo lowering springs, a roll cage, Volk Racing wheels, upgraded brakes, a rear seat delete, a custom head-up display, a new hood, an upgraded exhaust, and many more race-spec components. Thanks to all the powertrain upgrades, the GT-R’s 2.6-liter twin-turbocharged in-line six-cylinder is capable of producing 550hp.

After starring in the movie, the GT-R was exported to Germany in 2012, where it’s remained since. It has been used as an exhibit at the Munich Motorworld Museum ever since and was never registered for road use in Europe. This highly collectible R34 GT-R will be sold by Bonhams at its Brussels auction that will take place between 28 April and 5 May. The auction house has not revealed a pre-sale estimate; however, we won’t be surprised if it ends up selling for big money. Maybe, it’ll breach the million-dollar mark; who knows!
