Year after year, Boca do Lobo is present at Salone del Mobile in Milan with the best partnerships, the ones that stand out with our pieces, but also that carry traditionsheritage and the identity of our country and our city – Porto. Quinta da Vacaria is one of the oldest Duriense properties. History says that the wine production in the Quinta dates back to 1616, 4 centuries ago. The Quinta has today one of the largest and most valuable Porto Wines, only in 2016 were bottles in its origin with their own brand and producer label.

When travelling along the banks of the Corgo and Douro Rivers it is pleasant to observe the poetic beauty of their vineyards and when you observe them you will see that Quinta da Vacaria agriculture is based on respect for the soil, plants and surrounding ecosystems. Quinta da Vacaria is located in Baixo Corgo, between the banks of Rio Corgo and the Douro, on the eastern limits of Peso da Régua town.

Quinta da Vacaria Porto PINK

Port Pink is the result of a selection of grapes from the Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz varieties, harvested earlier than usual for their red ports. They intend to maintain more freshness and higher acidity. After manually harvesting into 20 kg boxes, the grapes are carefully sorted and go straight into the press.

A pressing of the whole bunch guarantees a more delicate and elegant must, also guaranteeing a small moment of skin contact, enough to assure the pink colour. Then they promote an alcoholic fermentation, briefly at a controlled temperature (16/18 ºC), to maintain the youthfulness of the fruit.

With strict control of density (baumé degree), Quinta da Vacaria decided the right moment to fortify the must, thus guaranteeing a new classic of Port by Jean-Hugues Fros and Teresa Pino winemakers. This wine has 14/16 months in stainless steel tanks to guarantee the fruit’s youthfulness and light filtration to ensure brilliant colour.

Quinta da Vacaria Porto Tawny 20 years

Tawny Port is the result of a selection of grapes from the Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca varieties. This wine is a blend of 20 years of average age, from the selection of several batches of Port wine.

Tawnies are wines aged in old 630-litre barrels for many years. As they age, tawnies become more golden, as they release their deposits in the hull instead of in the bottle. The racking causes oxidation and, consequently, the loss of fresh fruit aromas, with the wine acquiring aromas of dried fruits.

A complex and elegant aroma with evident notes of ripe fruit, greater intensity of dried fruit: walnuts and hazelnuts, and hints of cinnamon and coffee. With a rich taste, slightly sweet and smooth. Perfectly balanced with a long and elegant finish, exquisitely velvety by careful ageing by Teresa Pinto winemaker. For Boca do Lobo it was such a pleasure to experience Salone del Mobile alongside Quinta da Vacaria!
